In regular times:
Nursery/Childcare: Sunday mornings: 9:30 AM – end of worship
We have a wonderful childcare staff person who is in the nursery each Sunday, assisted by an adult volunteer member of the congregation.
Our nursery is open to infants, toddlers and preschool age children.
God Time (Sunday School)
We have God Time groups offered for children and youth from 3 years old through junior high school. The curriculum we follow is called “Whole People of God” and follows the lectionary; this means that, on most Sundays, the children and youth are focusing on the same Bible passages and teachings as the adults in worship in the sanctuary. Our God Time Guides and helpers are adult volunteers from the congregation.
All children and youth participating in God Time groups begin worship with the adults in our sanctuary at 10AM (9:30AM in the summer). After a special “Time with the Children,” children and youth leave for God Time. On the first Sunday of the month, children, youth and God Time Guides are offered the elements of Holy Communion before leaving worship in the sanctuary.
Nursery Care and God Time are offered throughout the school year and summer months.
Our young people serve as acolytes “bringing forth the light” at the beginning of the worship service and carrying it back out at the end of worship.
Our pastor offers Confirmation classes for youth in grades 7-12 in the spring.
Throughout the year, we offer special programs for children including Christmas Fun and our Christmas Pageant. Children and youth are also invited to participate in our Children’s Choir. In June, we hold a special Children’s Sunday, celebrating the children’s ministries throughout the past school year.
Our God Time children and youth sponsor a youth through the UCC Sponsorship Program. We have been sponsoring Tenzin, a refugee from Tibet who lives and goes to school in India for four years. Tenzin was born in December of 2003. The children and youth help with an Annual Pancake Brunch to raise funds for this sponsorship.
